Guess Who Turned One?!?

Jonah, that's who!!!  Happy Birthday dear Jonah!  This child is a delight!  He is always ready with a smile or a deep throaty chuckle.  Or a growl.  Happy growls--not like his older brother used to do.  He loves playing with his brothers, but can also entertain himself for quite a while (praise be)! 

He is a tiny little guy, so you would never guess the way he puts food down.  I'd say he's in his high chair gobbling food for half of his waking life.  He eats twice as much as Gregory and Isaac at every meal!

Jonah shrieks with delight when Daddy comes home, and misses his brothers desperately when they are at school.  He has five teeth, and a sixth will be joining us any moment.  He still loves to suck his thumb, and needs to hold on to something soft to go to sleep.  When we are at church, he prefers my hair, which he clutches with both hands and refuses to let go.  He is very strong, which makes it difficult to extricate myself without dropping him.  Another game he likes to play at church is "steal Mommy's glasses like a ninja and laugh maniacally."   You can bet that's one of my favorites as well...

Jonah loves to touch everything he can see.  He loves to point and make Mommy or Daddy carry him wherever he will, reaching to touch window locks, light fixtures, and crown molding.  Each time, he looks at us with delight, and whispers his own language for, "what's that?"  "what do you see?" and "what IS this?!?"
